Whalers Take ‘Wealth Of Experience’ From Mission

Whalers pick up goalie Zuvic, veteran Fishwick

WHITE ROCK – The Whalers have acquired two fresh faces from the Mission City Outlaws. Goalie Daniel Zuvic and forward Andrew Fishwick, both 20-year-olds, will add their veteran experience to the Pod.

Both were obtained for a player development fee.

‘Just want to win’: Zuvic

Zuvic spent the last two seasons between the pipes for Mission. In 2019-2020, he appeared in 27 regular season games – 14 wins – and recorded a goals-against-average of 3.58, along with five play-off games.

Last year, Zuvic made saves in five games before the season concluded in November due to the pandemic. Now, he’s eager to share his knowledge from his “old age with the younger guys.”

Whalers assistant coach Julian Feijo called Zuvic a “true competitor” who brought a “wealth of experience” to the Pod.

Ultimately, the new Whaler goalie wants to end his junior career on a high note. “I just want to win.”
