The White Rock Whalers were back in action this past week and had a home-and-home series against the Langley Trappers. Langley would end the Whalers’ seven-game winning streak in the two-game series.

The home and home series against the Whalers began on the road in Langley last Wednesday, October 2. The game would also mark the third game played in just four days for the Whalers.
The Trappers would jump out to a two-goal lead at the end of the first period, but Whitrock could answer with their own goal to start the second period from Justin Osborne.
Langley would be held to just one more goal in the second and another single goal in the third.
Whiterock Goalie Garin Wickstrom would have a busy night facing 36 shots, stopping 32.
“We didn't take care of the puck, and we couldn't get it out of our zone and into theirs very well,” said White Rock Head Coach Brien Gemmell.

White Rock would respond to the loss to Langley with a 3-0 victory at home their following game on Saturday, back at home inside their home at Centennial Arena.
“We got a chance to practice Thursday after playing three games in four days, and we had a long talk about taking care of the puck and paying attention to details,” Gemmell said.
He was pleased with the team's response, which forced Langley out of his comfort zone early in the game.
All three of the Whalers’ goals were netted in the first period. Keagan Bankier scored 6th in the season at 4:48 on the power play, Jonah Ussher (5th) scored 13:36, and Max Lyons followed up with scoring at 17:22.
Zach MacDonald would earn the shutout win, save 31 shots, and receive first-star honours.
