Bran, Fowle, Coopman Earn POWs

The PJHL has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending Nov. 12.

Nathan Bran, Forward, White Rock Whalers – Penalty killing was a productive time for Bran last week as he helped the Whalers to two wins in as many outings. The Coquitlam native scored twice, including the game-winner which came shorthanded, in a 4-1 come-from-behind victory over Grandview where he was named 1st Star. Bran scored another shorthanded game-winner the next time out, a 7-1 win over North Van, where he also assisted on another shorthanded goal and earned the game’s 2nd Star.

Max Fowle, Goaltender, Mission City Outlaws – Currently on a personal seven-game win streak, Fowle’s work in the Outlaws crease is almost singlehandedly moving his team into playoff position after a 2-8 start. Most recently, Fowle backstopped his team to a 6-1 road win at Surrey where he made 43 saves and took 2nd Star. He followed that with a 1st Star turn for a 39-save shutout in a 1-0 win at Poco that included 21 saves in the third period. Fowle recorded a .988 save percentage for the week.

Patrick Coopman, Forward, Langley Trappers – Coopman assisted on the game-winning goal on the power play in a 5-2 home win over Surrey to start his week. He topped that with the insurance marker plus another goal in a 3-0 road win over Abbotsford where he was named 1st Star.
