Players of the Week | Derrheim, Mierzejewski, Mathieson

The PJHL has announced its Players of the Week ending Dec. 4.

Charlie Derrheim, D, White Rock Whalers – Goals were hard to come by in the week that was due in part to the work of Derrheim on the blueline for the Pod. The 17-year-old Tsawwassen product scored White Rock’s lone goal, his first of the season, in a 2-1 loss to Grandview, where he was 3rd Star. He earned a 1st Star nod in a 4-3 shootout victory over Ridge Meadows, where he was the only player to score in the shootout after seven attempts for each team.

Brock Mierzejewski, F, Langley Trappers – The Trappers leading scorer, third in the PJHL, added to his totals with a goal and an assist in a 5-3 loss to North Van, where he was 3rd Star. Mierzejewski scored twice and was 1st Star in a 7-5 road win over Port Moody.

Ryden Mathieson, F, Port Moody Panthers – Mathieson’s two goals last week bring him to 10 for the season, which matches his output over 40 games last season. The 6-foot-4 forward had two assists to help Port Moody to a 4-1 road win over Surrey, and he followed that up by getting in on four of Port Moody’s five goals – two goals and two assists – in a 7-5 loss to Langley where he was 2nd Star.
