Players of the Week | D’Souza, Veer & Cash

The PJHL has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending Dec. 18.

Kieran D’Souza, F, White Rock Whalers – D’Souza assisted on the game-winner and then scored some insurance on the power play for the Whalers on Dec. 12 as he earned a 1st Star nod in a 4-2 home win over Mission City. The 17-year-old Surrey product followed that up with another goal and helper in a 5-2 road win against Mission City were he was named 2nd Star.

Veer Sadana, F, Grandview Steelers – Another big effort from a 17-year-old saw Sadana score his first two goals of the season Dec. 14, including the game-winner on the power play plus the final tally of the night, in a 5-1 road win over Aldergrove where he was 2nd Star. In his other outing for the week, Sadana set up the game-winning goal in a 5-2 home win over the Ridge Meadows Flames.

DJ Cash, G, Surrey Knights – With two wins in two tries, Cash rounds out this week’s POW list. The 6-foot-1, 175 netminder made 26 saves in a 7-4 road win in Chilliwack to start off his week and then turned in a stellar showing with 45 saves in a 3-2 home win over Langley where he also stopped all three opposition attempts in the shootout. He was named 1st Star for his efforts against Langley.
