CENTENNIAL ARENA – Sometimes, momentum can be cruel. The Grandview Steelers scored
three goals in five minutes and went on to a 5-0 victory over the Whalers Nov. 6.
Grandview’s Carter Demelo, Liam Bradley, and Nathan Bran all tallied in the second period. Steeler Ronin Geragthy made 27 saves for the shut-out.
White Rock captain Tyler Price lamented his team’s slow start. “By the time we found our game, it was way too late.”
After the Steelers had lit the lamp in the middle frame, tempers flared. Whaler Sam Dowell dropped the gloves with Steeler Jarod Yau. Both were ejected.
At press time, the Pod – nine wins, nine losses, and a single overtime loss for 19 points – are at .500 and now tied with Grandview for fourth place in the six-team Tom Shaw Conference.
Next game: Remembrance Day
And with the Pod off until Remembrance Day – an away game versus the Richmond Sockeyes – White Rock head coach Jason Rogers commented that his main focus was to effectively use practice time to “find ways to generate more offence.”
