After a pair of wins last weekend against the Delta Ice Hawks and the North Vancouver Wolfpack, the Whalers set a franchise record, scoring 10 goals against the Wolfpack.
WHITE ROCK, BC.
This weekend, the Whalers play Delta on Saturday at home, followed by a road game to Chilliwack to face off against the Jets.
The last time that the Whalers played the Delta Ice Hawks, they won 2-1 in a shootout. Max Lyons was the goal scorer for White Rock. Dylan Heer brought home the win with his goal in the shootout. Keegan Maddocks was the number 1 star of the game with 38/39 saves. On Delta’s team, Zach Shaughnessy was the second star of the game. It was a battle of the goaltenders, and much of the same can be expected on Saturday.
On Sunday, the Whalers will play Chilliwack for their season's first meeting. Last season, White Rock won 4-0 in wins against the Jets, all in regulation. Chilliwack’s record this season is 5-4-0-2, sitting in second place in their Herold B conference. They won their last game against the Surrey Knights 3-2
With the Whalers having over double the penalty minutes (120) that the Steelers (52) have, White Rock needs to stay out of the penalty box to come through with a win.
