A slapshot from North Vancouver Wolf Pack defenceman Jonathan Soares clanked off the post and in with 1:28 left on the clock. The Wolf Pack rallied to defeat the Whalers 3-2.

Captain Chris Fortems (an assist) and alternate captain Bryce Margetson (two helpers) were the sparkplugs that kickstarted the Whalers to a 3-1 victory over the slumping Abbotsford Pilots on Oct. 29.

Fortems finished with three points that evening. Overall, the captain has had a brilliant October. At press time, Oct. 24, he was tied for the Pacific Junior Hockey League’s scoring lead with 26 points.

Svendson, a gritty winger who loves to throw his body around, now leads the entire Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL) in goals with 13 this season.
