Next Up – Whalers Host Steelers

After a mixed weekend of a 5-2 win against Port Coquitlam and a 6-4 loss to Richmond, the White Rock Whalers are 3-2 before going into the last game of the month.

WHITE ROCK, BC.

The highlight of the week was Nathan Bran hitting his 10-point mark this season. On September 30, the Whalers are set to host the Grandview Steelers for their first match of the season.

Last year, Grandview dominated White Rock for a 4-0 record. This season, Grandview’s record is 3-1-0-1, having won their last game 5-2 against the Ridge Meadows Flames on September 23rd. The Whalers are currently only a point behind Grandview in the standings.

Players to look out for from the Grandview team right now are Lucas Cox, who has 8 points in 5 games and Steven Konechny, who has 5 points in 5 games, 4 of them being goals. Additionally, Former White Rock Whaler Evan Welsh returns to Centennial for the first time as a Grandview Steeler.

With the Whalers having over double the penalty minutes (120) that the Steelers (52) have, White Rock needs to stay out of the penalty box to come through with a win.
